Cranbrook Tools and its associates sell tools and many other things offline, but now this specialist online shop has been set up to supply good quality tools at very fair prices. We do not deal in the cheap-and-cheerful class of tool because we want to offer a genuine warranty with complete confidence that it will not often be needed.

LASER HAND TOOLS and GUNSON are superb and famous ranges used by professional technicians and keen home mechanics. The ranges have evolved to the point where all but a few budget priced tools can genuinely be used by the professional day after day and expected to last for years*.

Abrasives, Etching and Sharpening include actions like, filing, scraping, scratching, rasping, sanding and brushing. Many of the tools are repeated in the section on Power Tool Accessories.
Body Shop covers panel beating and vehicle body repairs, including interior trim.
Brakes, Suspension and Steering are a natural grouping.
Cutting obviously covers all kinds of saws, cutters, croppers and snips.
Drilling and Tapping is to do with holes and threads. Drill bits appear again under Power Tool Accessories.
Electrical is just about charging batteries, connecting, crimping and stripping of wire, and soldering by gas or electricity. So electrical test equipment is a separate category under 'T' for Test Equipment.
Hammers and Axes encompass claw hammers, ball pein hammers, club hammers and mallets; also hand axes.
Measuring includes rules, tapes, dial test indicators, many sorts of feeler gauge and vernier calipers.
Motorcycle Tools are represented.
Pliers and Grips exclude pure side cutters but include some specialised pliers, circlip pliers, plumber's or pipe grips, mole grips and the like. Water pump pliers also appear in the category on Cooling Systems.
Power Tool Accessories is a big section embracing anything you can fit to a power tool. There are a lot of tools which fit the Quick Chuck system.
Powertrain and Wheels are a logical pairing intended to follow from a vehicle's clutch, through gearbox and drive shafts to the road wheels. Pullers appear here.
Riveting covers both metal and plastic riveting, nut rivets and blind riveting systems.
Safety Equipment here means ear defenders, masks, goggles and an electric mains tester.
Screwdrivers are well covered including professional, extra long and all shapes of tip.
Servicing Tools is aimed at vehicle servicing but has other general applicability too. Find pry bars, punches, chisels, hooks and picks, nut splitters, stud and bolt extractors, and tools to rescue dropped items. There are numerous lights, scopes and lamps. For the sophisticated diagnostician, there are infra-red thermometers. Here are cleaning brushes for vehicles, parts and assemblies; also seat and wing covers and kneeling pads. Liquid transfer and lubrication have a section.
Sockets, Keys and Bits are grouped because of their obvious relationship. In a nutshell, here is every conceivable socket for fitting over a head and turning it; and every sort of tool for inserting into many shapes of recess and turning it. Drain plug keys and spark plug tools have their own sections. There are numerous ratchet handles, power bars, extensions and adaptors.
Spanners and Wrenches include a huge selection of spanners, ratchet spanners and specialised wrenches like oil filter wrenches, crow's foot heads and water pump wrenches.
Storage includes tool bags, pouches and rolls as well as steel tool boxes and chests with a range of padlocks.
Test Equipment & Engine Maintenance is often divided into families by make of vehicle, with guidance as to which fits what. The main categories are Compression & Valves, Cooling System, Diesel, Electrical, Fault Code Readers, Reset tools, Tuning and Timing (including diesel). Engine Management & General sweeps up lots of other test equipment like fuel injection, oil pressure, lamda, leak detection, vacuum tester, fault code reader, stethoscope, gas and engine analysers.
Torque Wrenches also includes torque angle gauges.


Cranbrook Tools sprang from Cranbrook Engineering which began life in 1927 as a garage. We branched out into lawnmowers and garden machinery in 1958 (click the link to visit our garden machine web shop). Obviously, such enterprises use tools as well as selling them, so there is a long engineering tradition lying behind this online tool shop.
